Blatter and Platini cleared in corruption case

Former FIFA President Sepp Blatter and France soccer great Michel Platini cleared of corruption charges by Swiss court, two and a half years after initial acquittal. Swiss federal prosecutors appealed against 2022 acquittal, but both men denied charges. Case involved a 2 million Swiss franc payment from Blatter to Platini in 2011. Platini’s lawyer calls for an end to criminal proceedings, citing personal and professional consequences.
