Police heavily deployed in Zimbabwe to thwart veteran-led protests against President Mnangagwa’s term extension until 2030. Businesses closed, streets empty in Harare and other cities. Despite some unrest, police maintain peace, dispersing protesters in western Harare. Mnangagwa, in power since 2017, faces opposition from former allies.
