Zimbabwe-born Tapiwa Gandidze, a candidate for the Labour Court judge position in South Africa, faced questions about her citizenship during interviews by the Judicial Service Commission. Chief Justice Mandisa Maya confirmed Gandidze’s South African citizenship acquired in 2016 or 2017. The commission is also seeking to fill vacancies in the Electoral Court.
