A penguin in a cardboard box caused a helicopter crash in South Africa after sliding off a passenger’s lap and hitting the pilot’s controls. The incident occurred during a flight conducting an aerial survey of Bird Island. The South African Civil Aviation Authority attributed the crash to the lack of secure containment for the penguin. No injuries were reported.
