Sasol’s interim gas strategy aims to extend South Africa’s gas supply by 24 months, addressing the looming “gas cliff” caused by depleting reserves in Mozambique. The plan involves redirecting Methane Rich Gas from its operations to maintain supply until mid-2030, providing a buffer for industrial users reliant on gas. This move buys time for LNG import projects to develop, safeguarding jobs and industries.
