One South African factory makes all the VW Polos in the world

The VW Polo is exclusively produced at the Kariega plant in Eastern Cape, Germany. The plant will briefly shut down to prepare for a new car. Since 2024, the Kariega plant has been the global production hub for all Polo versions. The plant also manufactures the Polo Vivo. Production in Spain ended last year, with a focus on affordable electric vehicles from 2026. Polo Track is made in Brazil for the South American market.
