Anthrax kills 50 hippos in DRC’s Virunga National Park | CNN

At least 50 hippos and other large animals in Virunga National Park, Congo, have died from anthrax poisoning. The park director confirmed the deaths and stated that buffalo were also affected. The cause of poisoning is unknown. The park, which has been working to increase hippo population, now holds about 1,200 hippos.
