Minority party candidates expected to contest Joburg mayoral seat

Candidates from minority parties will compete for the mayorship of Johannesburg this weekend. Al-Jama-ah’s Kabelo Gwamanda and Cope’s Colleen Makhubele are front-runners. ANC likely supports Gwamanda due to his experience. AIC’s Margret Arnolds is also in the race but lacks support. Arnolds, a human rights activist, has a long political career and journalism background.
