A new study reveals the oldest ant specimen, Vulcanidris cratensis, lived 113 million years ago in Brazil. The fossilized hell ant had scythe-like jaws to kill prey. Researcher Anderson Lepeco discovered the specimen in a Brazilian museum collection.
