South African manufacturers under pressure

South African manufacturers grew more pessimistic due to global tariffs and domestic political tensions. Absa’s purchasing managers’ index dropped to 44.7 in April, marking the sixth consecutive month of contraction. Expectations for future business conditions also declined, with the index falling 9.4 points to 48.
