Hawks arrest 656 people in high-profile cases, with majority in Gauteng and North West

Hawks head Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya announced 656 arrests in high-profile cases, seizing 395 firearms and dismantling drug labs worth over R23 million in Gauteng. Other arrests included 33 corrupt police officials and 64 cash-in-transit robbery suspects. Lebeya briefed the media in Pretoria on the unit’s progress in the fourth quarter of the 2024/2025 financial year.
