Minister withdraws appointments of chairpersons for Seta boards amid criticism by MPs

Minister of Higher Education Dr Nobuhle Nkabane has withdrawn controversial Seta board chairperson appointments, including Gwede Mantashe’s son, after backlash from MPs. The move follows concerns over ANC cadre deployment and accusations of corruption. Nkabane has decided to recalibrate the appointment process overseen by an independent panel, in response to public concerns.
