TotalEnergies seeks Mozambique nod to lift force majeure on LNG project

TotalEnergies plans to request Mozambique’s approval to end force majeure on its $20bn LNG project and resume construction by midsummer. The project, on hold since 2021 due to insurgent attacks, involves developing natural gas fields and constructing a liquefaction plant with a capacity of 13.12 million tonnes per year. CEO Patrick Pouyanne cited improved security.
