Bosnia’s electoral authorities removed Milorad Dodik as president of Republika Srpska, prompting a challenge from the nationalist leader. Dodik, a close ally of Putin, has been a divisive figure in Bosnia since 2006, undermining the country’s multiethnic state established by the Dayton Peace Accords. The country remains split along ethnic lines between the Federation and Republika Srpska.
