Renowned herpetologist Tyrone Ping shared a video of encountering a puff adder in a Constantia home. The clip shows him approaching the snake behind a pillow on outdoor furniture. Puff adders are known for their venom and defensive behavior, puffing up and hissing when threatened. They are ambush predators found in various habitats. Deaths from bites are rare with prompt medical treatment.
