Floyd Shivambu’s visit to fugitive pastor Shepherd Bushiri in Malawi led to his dismissal as MK party secretary-general. Despite facing criticism, he refused to apologize, claiming the visit was sanctioned by MK party leader Jacob Zuma. Justice Minister Mmamaloko Kubayi condemned the visit as disrespectful to South Africa’s legal system. The MK party stated Shivambu acted without their knowledge or mandate.
