A head-on collision on the R555 between a Ford Fiesta and a BMW resulted in the deaths of the Fiesta’s driver and a baby. The BMW driver, Nhlanhla Madi, witnessed emergency personnel attending to a female passenger from the Fiesta. An eyewitness reported that the Fiesta lost control while attempting to overtake a vehicle.
