British engineer Karl Lauks, 73, was strangled with his own belt in South Africa after returning from a pub visit. Known for his vibrant personality in Tulbagh, he was attacked in his driveway. The killer used his scarf to silence him and stole his belongings, leaving him dead in his car. The murder was discovered by a neighbor the next day.
