The Gauteng government will disband the Crime Prevention Wardens, known as Amapanyaza, due to inadequate training and ongoing legitimacy issues. The wardens will be integrated into the Traffic Police and Special Law Enforcement Unit, undergoing extensive training for 18 to 36 months.
