The Political Killings Task Team secured a conviction for the murder of former KwaZulu-Natal Legislature member Zibuse Mlaba. Nhlanhla Hlongwa was sentenced to 15 years after pleading guilty, implicating the alleged mastermind, Mlaba’s cousin. Mthobisi Dubazana was acquitted. The mastermind’s trial is set for November 7, 2025.
