WATCH | SERI takes the City of Johannesburg to the High Court over the eviction of informal traders

The Socio-Economic Rights Institute of South Africa is suing the City of Johannesburg in the High Court over the eviction of informal traders. The city’s clean-up and by-law enforcement campaign targets over 20,000 traders, removing those without permits or trading in unauthorized areas. SERI argues that the traders’ rights are being infringed.
