The remains of 14 South African soldiers, along with three Malawians and one Tanzanian, killed in the DRC, are being repatriated. M23 rebels initially blocked the process. The bodies are being transported through Rwanda to Uganda, Tanzania, and South Africa, avoiding Rwanda’s capital, Kigali. The SANDF will issue a statement soon. Rwanda’s support for M23 rebels complicates the repatriation process.
