Namibia’s first president, Sam Nujoma, has passed away at 95 in Windhoek. Nujoma led Namibia to independence in 1990 and served as president until 2005. President Mbumba expressed deep sorrow over Nujoma’s death, praising him for his leadership and service to the country. Nujoma retired in 2005 but remained active in the ruling Swapo party until 2007.
