Akani Simbine victorious again in Shanghai, Duplantis falls short of record

South African Akani Simbine won the 100m in 9.98s at the Shanghai-Keqiao Diamond League, beating Olympic silver medallist Kishane Thompson. Jamaican Thompson came second in 9.99s, and Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo was third in 10.03s. Armand Duplantis won the pole vault at 6.11m but couldn’t break his world record. American Cordell Tinch became the fourth fastest high hurdler. Duplantis expressed dissatisfaction with his performance.
