Former Johannesburg mayor Amos Masondo has been appointed to lead the ANC’s structure in Gauteng following poor election results. He will convene the new Provincial Task Team, replacing the Provincial Executive Committee. Panyaza Lesufi will also lead the team. The ANC aims to address its electoral losses in the province with these leadership changes announced by Secretary General Fikile Mbalula.
