Bitcoin reached a new high of over $111,000 against the US dollar and is back above R2 million in South Africa. The Rand’s strength against the Dollar is affecting the cryptocurrency’s value, with the Rand trading between R17.93 and R17.99 on Thursday. This is below its January high of R2,150,000 due to the Rand being stronger against the Dollar now compared to January.
