The Department of Employment & Labour in South Africa plans to address skills shortages in maths and science education by easing entry for qualified foreigners. The National Labour Migration Policy aims to attract high-level skills and address the brain drain issue by granting seven-year work permits to foreign graduates. The policy also aims to bring back skilled expats to address the country’s skills deficit.
