Businesses in South Africa are worried

South Africa’s Business Confidence Index remains flat at 45 in Q1, below the neutral mark of 50. Despite a slight improvement from last year, four out of five sectors saw a decline in confidence. The only positive was a surge in sentiment around new vehicle sales. The survey conducted in February showed pessimism due to international relations uncertainty following US aid cut announcement.
