The Cape Winelands Airport, formerly Fisantekraal Airfield, is set to open in early 2028, offering domestic and international flights. Private investors acquired the property in November 2020, with plans to invest R8 billion to transform it into a hub for air travel to Cape Town. Four people died and nine were injured when a fuel tanker crashed into a stationary bus on the N1 freeway in Limpopo.
