Judge Nathan Erasmus ruled that confessions in the Joshlin Smith trial are admissible, despite claims of police torture. The accused, Jacquen Appollis and Steveno van Rhyn, alleged coercion but lacked evidence of torture injuries. The ruling is provisional and subject to review at trial’s end.
