Drones hailed as ‘game-changer’ at SA borders

South Africa apprehended 6,000 people over Easter, double the previous year, due to drones deployed by the Border Management Authority. The drones helped increase interceptions by 61%, with officials calling it a “game-changer.” Home Affairs Minister and BMA announced the drone implementation earlier in April to curb illegal border crossings.
