Capitec, South Africa’s largest bank, announced CEO Gerrie Fourie’s retirement in July 2025 after 25 years with the bank. Graham Lee will succeed him. Fourie oversaw the bank’s growth from 5 million to 24 million customers and its transition to a diversified digital bank. His retirement marks the last of the bank’s founders to exit management, ending an era.
