Family’s history of abuse, addiction and neglect laid bare in Joshlin Smith trial

Social worker Siliziwe Mbambo presented a damning report on Racquel “Kelly” Smith’s drug abuse and domestic violence issues to the Western Cape High Court. The case began in 2016 when Smith’s grandmother reported her neglect of her son and drug abuse. Smith’s drug habit continued even during her pregnancy with her missing daughter, Joshlin. Smith only sought help in 2018.
