Home Affairs extends Saturday hours for Smart ID applications

The Department of Home Affairs will open on 24 May and 31 May for extended Saturday hours from 8:00 to 13:00, allowing naturalised citizens and permanent residents to apply for Smart ID Cards. This initiative aims to replace green barcoded ID books with more secure Smart ID Cards. The service is available for listed countries’ citizens and residents to facilitate the transition to secure identification.
