Joshlin trial: Defence says State failed to prove case beyond reasonable doubt

The fate of the accused in the Joshlin Smith kidnapping trial will be decided on Friday. If found guilty, they could face life sentences. Doubt has been cast on the evidence of evangelist Nico Coetzee by Racquel Smith’s counsel, questioning claims made about plans for her daughter. Closing arguments were presented to clear Smith of charges related to the disappearance of Joshlin in 2024.
