The Lesotho Highlands Water Project’s water transfer tunnels will remain closed for an additional three weeks due to maintenance delays. The department cited technical challenges and changing weather patterns for the extension. Seepage issues in the tunnel caused by sandblasting technique changes have contributed to the delays. Maintenance work in South Africa is progressing as scheduled.
