Mafia groups have infiltrated South African security firms

South African Minister Dean Macpherson disclosed mafia and gang infiltration in security firms during a meeting with Public Works MECs. Efforts to combat construction mafia activities have led to 745 extortion cases reported, resulting in 240 arrests. Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, and Eastern Cape are the top provinces affected, collectively representing 84% of all cases nationwide.
