Eighty-four vultures were rescued in a mass poisoning event at Kruger National Park, one of the largest in southern Africa. An elephant carcass laced with poison led to over 100 dead vultures. A coordinated effort involving helicopters and ambulances saved the surviving birds. The operation was carried out by South African National Parks rangers and Endangered Wildlife Trust officials.
