Ahmed Shehada, a doctor from Gaza, paid $1,600 per person to a humanitarian group to escape the war-torn region. After a tense journey through Israeli checkpoints, he and his family arrived in South Africa, joining hundreds of other Palestinians. The South African government has raised concerns about the circumstances of their arrival.
