The Vaal Dam’s water levels are rising rapidly, prompting authorities to open three additional sluice gates, bringing the total to ten. Currently at 106.42% of its capacity, the dam’s levels are significantly higher than last year’s 30%. Sustained inflows have led to controlled releases to manage flood risks.
