The African Union supports replacing the inaccurate Mercator map with the Equal Earth projection to better represent Africa’s size. The Mercator map distorts continent sizes, giving a false impression of Africa’s size and importance. The ‘Correct The Map’ campaign aims to challenge stereotypes and promote accurate representations.
