Ekurhuleni metro police’s acting chief, Brig Julius Mkhwanazi, promoted 55 candidates to senior roles without proper advertising, as revealed by suspended chief Jabulani Mapiyeye at a commission inquiry. Mapiyeye, suspended over sexual harassment allegations, claimed these appointments were irregular and disregarded his authority.
