Three alleged kidnappers were shot and killed by police in Parktown, Johannesburg, while reportedly en route to commit a robbery. They had previously kidnapped a Chinese national in June 2025 and attempted to abduct another businessman last week, according to police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe. The situation is ongoing.
