Former National Assembly speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula appeared in Pretoria’s High Court facing 12 corruption counts and one of money laundering related to alleged kickbacks from a defense contractor. She became emotional during the proceedings and left in tears. Her lawyer requested an adjournment to November to review the case with the National Director of Public Prosecutions.
