Deputy President Paul Mashatile fined R10,000 by Parliament’s Ethics Committee for not declaring a diamond gift from businessman Louis Liebenberg to his wife. Mashatile failed to disclose the gift in the confidential part of his financial interests register. Despite his explanation, the committee found him in breach of the Code of Ethical Conduct.
