The head of procurement for the South African Police Service admitted that Medicare24, owned by Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, did not meet all tender requirements for a R360 million medical contract. General Molefe Fani stated the company failed to sign a necessary franchise agreement, during an ad hoc committee investigation into police corruption.
