The Transport Department is easing the burden on motorists with expired driving licences by waiving the R72 fee for temporary cards and suspending fines for those who can prove renewal applications. A three-month grace period is also introduced. Efforts to resolve the backlog, caused by a printing machine breakdown, are ongoing.
