The Western Cape High Court ruled GrandWest Casino liable for the electrocution of a four-year-old girl in January 2020 due to exposed wiring near the ice rink. The court found gross negligence, rejecting the casino’s defense of safety signage. A separate hearing will determine compensation for the family.
