The City of Joburg has denied rumors of selling community spaces, including parks and cemeteries. Joburg Property Company General Manager Sizeka Tshabalala clarified that these claims are false and attributed concerns to outdated lease agreements. Residents and tourists can continue to enjoy the city’s recreational areas, which are managed by Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo.
