Two pedestrians died in Soweto after being struck by a vehicle while JMPD officers responded to a road blockage caused by a wage dispute between two taxi associations. Additionally, two taxi owners were shot during the demonstration. The conflict stems from route disputes, despite a High Court ruling favoring one association. Investigations are ongoing.
